What happens when a crisis happens aka MH370

Into its 2nd week since MH370 'disappeared' and with 25 countries involved in the search, there has been many wild theories and rumors. It just shows a few things. While we cannot prevent disasters and accidents from happening, we can manage our reaction to it . The whole MH370 saga just amplifies major weaknesses in crisis management and human vulnerability. In the absence of information, rumors abound and there are new theories daily. I cant imagine the roller coaster rides the families go through. I think there has to be a better way to manage this whole situation. Really, someone has to be on top of things and stop drawing wild conclusions until the black box is found, until the plane is found. With so much resources pumped into the search, surely there is a dire need to coordinate better else resources will be wasted. Half the globe is involved! I certainly hope there will be closure for this soon!

It has been 8 years since I last posted anything on my much neglected blog. What happened? Its simply a case of neglect. Why go back now? I thought of penning down my thoughts and get back to writing which I enjoy but never disciplined enough to continue. I like to start writing regularly on my blog again and to share in an already overcrowded cyberspace.

Superheroes , Superhumans

There have been so many superhero movies screening, I feel like I am reliving my childhood all over again, because I practically grew up watching these superhero cartoon flicks or action drama. Which is your favourite character? My colleague told me Batman, because he is the richest. Haha.

Its hard for me to choose a hot favourite, though I will say that my least favourite has to be incredible hulk. Who like a green monster who ballooned so BIG like his huge inflated ego and become all grouchy? Though I must say he did some 'heroic' stuff when he was abnormal.

These superheroes all lead dual identity lives. Their public persona smack of the mundane, with bills to pay, errands to run, chores to do, emotions to take care of. Once transformed into their 'abnormal' aka superhero self, they save the world (except for superman who was really out of the world and who isnt truely human').

I suppose deep inside each of us, we all yearn that superhero to be somewhere, performing heroic deeds our normal selves wont be 'capable' of.

Which superhero will you like to be? :)

The Zen of Bartending

Went to chinaone with ex colleague to enjoy the live band. Music was very good. We were at the bar, ordering our drinks and I noticed something amazing. Usually the bar area is v chaotic and sometimes bartenders are rather messy with the way they mix their drinks. But I noticed one of the bartenders going about mixing everything very smoothly. I would even say there is fluidity in his actions. He was not only swift and smooth in preparing the drinks. Through all the chaos, he remained the calm one, ever so polite to the customers who ordered the drinks and he gave a generous amounth of spirit to the mixes. Not only that he even took care to squeeze the limes in the volka lime drinks. I will say he maintain his zen very well.

He stood out amidst his colleagues who were a little more messy.

Zen is not been calm when nothing happen.. True zen is to be the still one in the midst of chaos. That bartender really taught me something!

pain in stomach

prob got stomach flu , had pain whole week. saw doc twice, now am abit better. But what a sedate life I had last week. I basically went home straight after work everyday, something I havent done for the longest time. I practically stayed home the whole long weekend, other than going for class on sat.

Some kind of long weekend.

Hope I get better soon. Its no fun. Health is indeed Most Important.
